Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress, known for roles in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. In the 80s the actress began her acting career, and was well-known for the character Tezaab, in which she starred alongside an established actor Anil Kapooor. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared as well. Born into the Mumbai middle-class family, and began to dance at a young age. While still a teenager she attempted acting, but the majority films she attempted to make were unsuccessful. Then she found her feet and went on to become one of the top actresses on the Indian film business. Her marriage led to a hiatus from her acting career. The actress returned in later years. Dixit played an important role as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit has been nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri - the fourth most prestigious civilian award of India - was given to Dixit. Her reputation also includes for her social activism.
